Viana do Castelo is easily accessible

 

Road Access

When travelling by car, if you are coming from the north (Spain), cross the border in Tui/Valença and take the N13 Road. In Vila Nova de Cerveira you can choose to continue to travel in N13 Road or take the A28 motorway. If you are coming from the south (Porto), also take the N13 Road or the A28 motorway. If you choose to travel in A3 (Porto-Valença), connecting with Braga-Valença, you can access Viana do Castelo by taking the direction Ponte de Lima and then the A27 motorway.

 

Maritime Access

Viana do Castelo has a marina, a commercial port, a fishing harbor with fishing dock and a shipyard. Located in Lima River, near the city center, the marina has excellent conditions and the entrance is easy and safe. Here you can find fuel and make repairs if required.

 

Airport Access

The nearest airport is the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, located at about 65 km from Viana do Castelo. Companies like OVNITUR - Viagens e Turismo, Lda. and Agência de Viagens Barquense provide daily shuttle services between Viana do Castelo and Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport.You can also choose the Vigo Airport (Spain) which distance from the city about 90 km.

 

Rail Access

If you are considering rail transportation, the Portuguese Railway Company-CP - provides regular and fast train connection from and to Viana do Castelo (Minho Line, connecting Vigo to Porto).
